Hi there crafty friends. I’m here today to share my card for Challenge #2. This card was made with a very special friend in mind. Kim and I “met” through a blog hop group and since we are both a little cray cray, we hit it off right from the start. Kim celebrated her birthday back in July so when I chose this scrumptious cupcake and sentiment from this month’s sponsor, Graciellie Design, I had her in mind.
The theme this month is Turquoise OR Yellow OR Balloons. I chose this teal colored cardstock from Michael’s for my card base. I already had the perfect digital designer papers in my collection so I created a faux matted look by layering the patterned digital paper on top of a teal digital paper in my Photo Imaging software and merging the two into one graphic. I duplicated the image three times and printed them onto some white cardstock and after cutting each one out I set them aside for just a moment. Then I printed my sentiment onto some white cardstock and cut it into a 3.75x5-inch piece on which I adhered the three rectangular pieces side-by-side.
Next I cut a teal scallop and a pink polka-dot circle and adhered the two together. I used my Cameo to cut out the cupcake leaving a small white border around the edge. I colored the cupcake using Copic markers:
The pink circle embellishments were made with my glue gun, some hot glue, and a pink Copic marker. I will go into that in more detail in an upcoming blog post.
Once I had the front looking the way I wanted it to, I set about to pretty up the inside with another sentiment. Once again I used the magic of my Photo Imaging software to create the matted look for the paper and sentiment. This completed my card.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Alina. :-)
DeleteI do love this card! And it's even prettier in person as I am the cray-cray Kim to which you refer. I resemble that remark! How in the world did you get such perfect dots from a glue gun....all I can make with a glue gun is a mess! You are uber talented, my friend!
