With the way things have been going in this house, I thought I should get a jumpstart on my mom’s Mother’s Day card. This technique is inspired by Theresa Momber (visit here blog HERE) and was featured on Stamp TV at the end of March. I loved it so much, I wanted to try it for myself.
The first thing I did was cut a template out of white cardstock. Then I used a sponge and started sponging on my inks starting at the bottom corner and working my way into the middle.
After the sponging was done and before I removed the template, I stamped the tall meadow stamp so that part of it hung over the bottom edge of the template to give it a crisp line across the bottom. I used Versafine Onyx Black ink.
Then I removed my template and completed the rest of the stamping in black ink. First the “You=awesome Me=grateful sentiment, and then the butterflies.
I stamped the largest butterfly onto a second piece of white cardstock and used my Copic markers to color it. Then I adhered that over the top of the stamped outline to add some depth. I colored the smaller butterflies with Copic markers as well. I typed the word Mother into Word using a fancy font.
I adhered that entire piece to a folded grey base to complete the card. I sure hope my mom likes this card. Thank you for stopping by to take a look.
